Why “Pecari”? It started with Gaudy
Gaudy grew up right on the beach in Playa Potrero. From Potrero and Flamingo to Tamarindo and the little beach towns in between, she knows this stretch of coast by heart.
These days she does what she loves most: airport rides, beach days, local tours and custom Costa Rica days — with a soft spot for families, girls' trips and women travelers who want to feel comfortable, safe and genuinely taken care of.
And the name? At an old rustic soda on the outskirts of town — the kind of family-run lunch spot only locals know — Gaudy met a baby pecarí, a small, bristly wild animal native to Costa Rica. She fell a little bit in love. Cute, slightly wild and very local: exactly the spirit of how she likes to show people her home.

What is a “Pecari”?
A peccary — pecarí in Spanish — is a small, bristly wild animal native to Costa Rica and Latin America. Gaudy met one at an old rustic soda (a little family-run eatery) on the outskirts of town and fell in love — cute, slightly wild and very local, just like the way she shows people her home coast. It's been the brand's little mascot ever since.
